ON Semiconductor Regional Occupational Health Nurse in United States

ON Semiconductor is seeking a full-time Regional Occupational Health Nurse for our East Coast sites in Rochester, New York, Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, and South Portland Maine. The chosen candidate must be a self-driven and motivated occupational health nurse, and must be willing to work at one of our three East Coast sites.

As a Regional Occupational Health Nurse, you will have the opportunity to provide a wide range of nursing services to employees and managers at multiple sites. Our diverse group of experienced nurses provide a great remote team environment for collaboration and creative problem solving. This position will be part of our Environmental Health & Safety initiative, reporting directly to the North American Occupational Health Resources Manager. Daily responsibilities will cover a varied list of tasks relevant to areas in occupational health and safety compliance.

  • Manage and drive projects to 100% completion based on site-specific priorities.

  • Implement and manage the Corporate Conservative Care program at all East Coast sites.

  • Manage OHR compliance programs, including:

  • OSHA medical surveillance at all eastern region sites in coordination with local providers as required

  • Maintaining medical records in accordance with HIPPA confidentiality.

  • Oversight of OSHA log maintenance

  • Oversight of International Travel Regulations

  • Any and all other occupational health duties as required.

  • Partner with company insurance carrier(s) to manage worker’s compensation cases for all East Coast sites. This includes accommodating ADA restrictions, managing and ensuring compliance with OSHA Medical Surveillance programs, and overseeing the OHR program of Fitness for Duty.

  • Provide all necessary assessments, treatments, and triage of occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses. You will also respond to medical emergencies, participate in accident investigation, and document corrective actions at your home site.

  • Regularly train Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) members, in CPR/AED, emergency protocols

  • Collaborate with local HR Reps to organize blood drives, flu clinics, blood pressure, and arrange for/conduct ergonomic evaluations.


The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of nursing experience with a minimum of three years in an occupational health setting . (Semiconductor, manufacturing, chemical, or other related industry is preferred.)

  • BSN and Certification of Occupational Health Nursing preferred.

  • CPR instructor certification required (in lieu of current CPR certification, candidate must have the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.)

  • Unencumbered RN licensure (licensure in good standing) in home state is required, and possession / or the ability to obtain to licensure in the other 2 states ASAP after hire, is critical.

  • Proven competency in aggressive Worker’s Compensation Case Management is required; Certification in CCM (Corporate Care Management) or equivalent is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of NIOSH Pulmonary Function Testing, DOT Drug Collection/BAT Technician, and CAOHC Occupational Hearing Conservation interpretation is expected. Certifications are a plus, but not required.

  • Project Management experience required

  • A demonstrated history of excellent teamwork, communication and relationship building skills, as well as the ability to function with minimal supervision. Candidate must also thrive working in both independent environments and in a team/ matrix organization.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Must also be able to transfer and push an ill patient in a wheelchair, and carry medical supplies such as an AED or oxygen tank for emergency purposes.

  • Be flexible to occasionally adjust schedule to cover various OHR duties and other sites remotely (as required to support the 24-hour 7-day/week operations and North American OHR team.)

  • A passion for and willingness to maintain a high level of competence in EHR Regulatory Compliance

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suites, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

  • The candidate must be willing and able to travel to the other sites on a quarterly basis, and will be able to travel as needed to the corporate site or other ON Semiconductor sites for meetings and audit purposes, for a total of approximately 15% travel.
