ON Semiconductor Principal Reliability Engineer in South Portland, Maine

JobSummary:

We are seeking a Scientist/Engineer to join our process reliability physics team in South Portland, Maine, USA.

Performance Objectives:

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform reliability characterization of Front End of Line(FEOL) devices and materials, including gate oxide breakdown, hot-carrierinjection, bias temperature stability, and process plasma-induced damage (PID,antenna effects).

  • Own PID test structures, test plans, analysis, and design rules.

  • Collaborate with process and technology development teamto assess FEOL reliability of new semiconductor processes.

  • Assess reliability impact of changes to existingsemiconductor processes.

  • Design and implement test structures for FEOL reliability characterization,including layout automation in Cadence and Mentor Graphics environments.

  • Design, build, and maintain test systems for FEOL reliability measurements.

  • Develop robust and efficient data analysis flows for raw data and reportgeneration, archiving, and recall.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with fab FEOL reliability failure mechanisms.

  • Deep understanding of conduction in thin film metals, semiconductors, and insulators.

  • Understanding of devices such as MOSFETs, JFETs, diodes, and capacitors.

  • Experience in thin film deposition and characterization techniques a plus.

  • Experience in electrical and reliability test system design and operation a plus.

  • Proficient in data analysis tools such as JMP or Matlab.

  • Familiarity with programming and scripting languages.

  • Experience with Cadence SKILL a plus.

  • Experience with high voltage (>100 V) a plus.

  • PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Applied Physics, Metallurgy, Electrical Engineering or other physical science, or MS with equivalent experience.
