ON Semiconductor Facilities Maintenance Technician in South Portland, Maine
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician working in the South Portland, Maine Manufacturing Facility the chosen candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with peers and internal customers to maintain the uninterruptible operations of all of the mechanical and electrical systems critical to a semiconductor manufacturing factory.
This position is primarily M-F, Day-shift, however candidate must be flexible when requested to work outside of normal schedule, to include weekends, holidays and nights.
Within 30 days a successful candidate will be introduced to:
Clean-room classifications and environmental control requirements.
Building Management System (Honeywell EBI).
Preventative maintenance and Work request systems and philosophy.
Environmental abatement systems operations (VOC, Scrubbers & AWN).
Key Facility systems operations (HVAC/Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Water,Supply & Exhaust fans).
At the end of 90 days the candidate will:
Be able to perform all testing of Manufacturing Environmental Controls(Particles, Velocity, Bacteria, Temperature and Humidity).
Developedan understanding of our Building Management System in order to make changes andmodifications as needed.
Beginperforming Maintenance of all Key Facility equipment.
In the first 6 months the candidate will:
Be cross-trained in Deionized Water Plant and Plant Engineering operations.
Be proficient in all facility-required preventive maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot technical issues and identify system modificationsas needed.
Participate and support continuouscommissioning and improvement projects.
Complete all certifications within assigned JobTraining plan
Comfortablewearing personal protective equipment, to include the following: Full Face Respirator, Acid/Solvent Gloves, Aprons, Gauntlets, Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Boots, Hearing Protection.
Ability tostand/work on feet for long periods of time.
Pass medical evaluation/physicalfor full face respirator certification.
Ability to lift 25/50 lbs.
Ability to work in hot environments (Boiler room).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making quickdecisions.
Willingness and discipline to follow procedures and specifications.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with computer programs such as MS Word and Excel.
Work independently in dynamic team environment.
Ability to troubleshoot andrepair the following systems: low-pressure steam boilers, air compressors, low vacuum,chillers, process cooling water packages, makeup and recirculation air handlers,acid waste neutralization, acid / caustic scrubbers, VOC incinerator, emergencygenerators, fire alarm and solvent and acid waste collection systems.
Associate's Degree (Mechanical or Electrical Technology focus preferred)
In lieu of degree, minimum of 5 years experience in related field willbe considered
