EQUIPMENTMAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – South Portland, ME
The Equipment Maintenance Technician will be responsible for multiple activities in support of manufacturing including: maintenanceof semiconductor Wet and Plasma Etch equipment , processes and measurement tools.
This position requires the individual to possess the ability to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance procedures on equipment used in the manufacture of semiconductor devices. These repairs and procedures are performed in an environment where toxic gas, high voltage, and kinetic energy hazards exist. Repairs and maintenance must be performed in a timely and accurate manner so as to minimize the loss of availability to manufacturing.
The Technician will work, as part of a team, with operators and engineers to identify problems and their solutions.
Technician will apply knowledge of fundamental concepts and practices of electronics and microelectronics, as well as statistical process control concepts, to maintenance of semiconductor equipment and processes.
The technician must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude; this is required to learn/perform assigned maintenance tasks.
Technicians work in a cleanroom where the purity of the air must be kept at a maximum level for the protection of the in-process wafers. In order to maintain the air quality technicians must adhere to strict apparel regulations that prohibit the use of perfume, cologne, hairspray, fingernail polish, and make-up of any kind; also prohibited is the wearing of contact lenses, dresses and any open toe or heel shoes.
Must be available and able to work nights, 12hr shifts,rotating 3-day on/3-day off schedule.
Troubleshoot and repair electromechanical systems thatinclude servo motors and controllers, stepper motors and controllers, ACmotors and controllers, and DC motors and controllers.
Troubleshoot and repair electro pneumatic systems thatinclude solenoid valves, gate valves, high vacuum isolation valves, andpneumatic logic circuits.
Work is performed within a clean room environment thatrequires the wearing of a smock, hood, booties, latex/nitrile gloves andsafety glasses.
Requires the use of airline respirator.
Requires occasional wearing of personal protectiveequipment including, but not limited to: aprons, gauntlets, and fullface masks.
Previous equipment maintenancebackground is preferred.
Basic math skills and computerskills.
Capable of standing for atleast 75% of the time during any particular flight.
Capable of working with andaround chemicals (safety training is provided).
Remain as shift flexible aspossible as there exists the chance of being moved from the night flightto the day flight (or vice versa), also must be able to work weekends aswell as weekdays.
Capable of cross training(learning more than one job or operation) and multi tasking.
Organization skills and theability to prioritize one’s work.
· Associates degree in electronic or electromechanical sciences or equivalent; or military electronic degree.
