ON Semiconductor Day-Shift Manufacturing Supervisor in South Portland, Maine

ON Semiconductor in South Portland,Maine is seeking a highly competent and innovative candidate for our Manufacturing Team. Working within a manufacturing setting, the successful candidate will operate under the direction of the site Manufacturing Manager and represent their specific shift on various subject matters.

Position Description:

  • Lead and supervise team members on a 12 hour 6am to 6pmshift.

  • Certify and partner with ERT (emergency response team)members on shift.

  • Actively support and maintain a safe working environment byteaching and monitoring the use of established company safety programs on themanufacturing floor.

  • Understand financial and operational goals, communicate themto the employees on shift and lead them to meet those goals.

  • Follow agreed business processes and company standards forsupervising, training, certifying, rewarding, motivating and continuouslyimproving performance of the shift.

  • Develop and mentor the shift’s direct labor to operateautonomously and effectively within their area of specialty using establishedguidelines, procedures, and policies.

  • Identify and communicate opportunities to optimize businessprocesses and automation for lower cost and higher productivity.

  • Drive 5S, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement withinthe factory.

  • Partner with the equipment maintenance organization toestablish resource priorities for repair and timely completion of preventativemaintenance tasks.

Experience Required:

  • 5 years’ experience in an automated manufacturingenvironment required. Wafer fab experience highly desired.

  • Demonstrated leadership potential in a factory organizationand working as a team with other disciplines.

  • Must be highly motivated to improve manufacturing throughempowerment and out of the box thinking. This is individual is not happy simplydelivering commitments but is continuously driving to exceed all targets.

  • Previous experience driving and participating in leanpractices to include kaizen, standard work and 5S.

  • Solid understanding of all aspects of operations management:capacity, headcount management, lean manufacturing / continuous improvement,production scheduling, etc.

  • Proven ability towork with strong personalities, and bring them together as a team.

  • Ability to foster a professional work environment thatinstills trust and confidence among reports, peers and supportingorganizations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communicationskills.

  • Demonstrated experience and skill using computers in thefactory environment for automation, analysis and communication - includingemail, web applications and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability and willingness to alter schedule as needed for insupport of training, coverage and off-shift meetings.

  • Work 12-hour operational shift in a multi-level clean roomenvironment, model correct gowning and PPE protocols and stand or walking muchof the time.

Education: BS degree or equivalent experience
