ON Semiconductor is seeking a self driven and motivated engineering professional to join their Global Facilities Engineering Team located in Malaysia. As a Senior Principal Engineer for Water & Waste Water Engineer, you will have the opportunity to set strategic technical direction, mentor junior engineers, solve advanced problems and improve overall facilities support around the world.
The successful candidate will have advanced skills in facilities systems design, operations and maintenance and will be responsible for Mechanical engineering support for diverse portfolio Fab, Assembly Test and offices in over 23 locations. The individual must have advanced knowledge and previous experience with semiconductor high purity water system (RODI/ UPW), and waste treatment systems, be fluent in the application of structured problem solving principles and understand codes/standards.
Safety : Align to the Incident and Injury Free culture within ON Semiconductor. Identify safety hazards within buildings/systems and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building’s staff and occupants work in a safe environment.
Capacity : Develop or enable the development of capacity models for critical systems to proactively identify risks that may prevent production loss. Work with the sites to develop and implement action plans
Reliability : Utilize Reliability Engineering tools to identify, poor performing equipment loss of redundancy, etc, Support the sites in the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
Design and Construction : Write/review scope of work documents for design and/or construction projects. Perform Conceptual “what if” calculations to enable funding for design/construction. Perform Design Reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and specifications.
Documentation : Develop, update and/or maintain Plan of Record Design Guidelines, Sequence of Operations, P&IDs, Troubleshooting Specifications and other critical documentation related to facilities systems.
Preventative & Predictive Maintenance : Act as the subject matter expert in developing standard PM/PdM procedures that maximize uptime while balancing cost.
Capital Upgrades : Work with the sites in the development of 3-5 year major maintenance plans which would translate into Expense and Capital requests with a focus on infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements and building modifications to ensure the building’s future capabilities are maintained to prevent Interruptions due to Capacity, Reliability, equipment obsolescence, etc.
Advanced Troubleshooting : Provide support to site teams in solving complex technical issues. May require some travel to sites to support Reactive failures and Proactive annual shutdowns. Will require the use of FMEA techniques
Technical Training : Develop training packages where necessary and provide Engineer and/or Technician training either face to face or virtually.
Cost Control : Identify cost savings opportunities within the maintenance program while maintaining 100% uptime
Performs additional job duties as requested.
Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with at least 10 years’ experience in Facilities engineering, consulting engineering, or construction.
Advanced knowledge and previous experience with semiconductor high purity water systems (RODI/ UPW) and waste treatment systems. Knowledge on high purity industrial gas systems will be a plus.
Experience in working with other cultures is necessary
Ability to travel internationally up to 15% is required.
Capability in using AutoCAD a plus.
Knowledge of controls design a plus.
Project management, and/or Construction Management experience a plus.
English language required, Mandarin language capability is also a plus.
