Job Summary:

ON Semiconductor located in Rochester, New York has a great opportunity for a Manufacturing Wafer Fab Supervisor to manage production teams that operate semiconductor-processing equipment in a clean room environment. Performance Objectives:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Wear a full clean room uniform while working an 8 or 12-hour shift rotation (day/night), following the team schedule while maintaining daily activities. This Crew schedule could include weekends or holidays.Foster team harmony and develop/mentor effective relationships while managing product flow for the purpose of Manufacturing of silicon wafers in a cleanroom environment. When leading, will demonstrate a sense of urgency while performing all tasks without jeopardizing quality and safety. This will set an expectation and a culture of perfect quality.Maintain teams of Process technicians that are expected to attain certification to process all production and engineering material exactly as specified in the Standard Operating Procedures, ensure that process equipment meets the required qualifications prior to use, utilize statistical process control (SPC) techniques, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the work area.

  • Understanding and knowing how to generate the necessary reports needed to run the Fab and Production morning meeting.Eliminate all barriers.Enable zero queue, hot lots, and priority lots to be processed efficiently.

  • Manage controls, quals, and lots on hold.

  • Work side by side with the crews to get acquainted with all the Process Technicians, Equipment Technicians, and Engineers.

  • Gather Fab knowledge, (ie: bottleneck areas, monitoring production flow) to aid in offering site efficiencies and ideas. Utilize, appreciate and respect widespread knowledge of processes and interrelationships to support and enhance product flow as well as team productivity.

  • Use discretionary time in order to enhance personal knowledge base.

  • Support and adhere to policies and procedures.

  • Show flexibility to any unplanned work situations based on business needs.

  • Demonstrate concern for self and others, uses proper safety attire, and applies safe practices and polices.

  • Ensure compliance with all HR policies at the operations level.

  • Clearly understand the FAB Operations, including its challenges and opportunities.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Proven skills and examples to perform successfully in the performance objectives

  • Preferred qualifications include previous experience in a production environment with the ability to multi-task while operating safely, efficiently, and in a high quality manner

  • Cleanroom experience is preferred. Must be able to work an 8 or 12-hour shift rotation (day/night)

  • Semiconductor assembly is preferred
