ON Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment Technician, Backend in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania

As an Equipment Maintenance Technician at ON Semiconductor, you will maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment in the Metals, Implant, Wafer Thinning, and Sort areas . The equipment you support is critical for 24x7 manufacturing of semiconductor wafers used in Automotive and Consumer applications throughout the world. In this team based environment, you will work closely with Process Engineers and Manufacturing to provide high quality products to our customers.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide technical and hands-on service of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

  • Perform electrical, mechanical and software troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning equipment

  • Respond to equipment alarms, failure, and process measurement violations.

  • Perform preventive maintenance for Implant/Metals/Thin/Sort equipment

  • Document proper maintenance procedures.

  • Provide detailed pass downs to the team regarding daily issues and activities.

  • Establish and execute plans to improve quality of wafers processed through the area.

  • Identify opportunities to improve availability to manufacturing.

  • Commit to creating and maintaining a safe work environment.

  • Complete basic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on all Implant/Metals/Thin/Sort equipment, with a mindset to continuously improve equipment availability.

  • Perform required preventive maintenance and repair procedures in an independent and efficient manner.

  • Demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and show initiative to support multiple tool platforms in Implant/Metals/Thin/Sort.

  • Pass all safety certifications required for the job.

Successes within the first six months:

  • Complete basic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on assigned Implant/Metals/Thin/Sort equipment, with a mindset to continuously improve equipment availability.

  • Perform required preventive maintenance and repair procedures in an independent and efficient manner.

  • Demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and show initiative to support multiple tool platforms in Implant/Metals/Thin/Sort.

  • Pass all safety certifications required for the job.

Requirements:

  • Minimum AAS in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, Electrical Technology, or a Military Electronics's degree

  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude is required to succeed in this role.

  • Experience with AMAT or Axcelis Implanters, Varian M2i or AMAT Endura metal sputter tools, Disco grinders, and/or SEZ spin etchers is preferred, but not required.

  • Must be able to work with various hazardous gases and chemicals. Must be able to wear full face airline respirator.

  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl up to 1/3 of the time. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to work in both an office and anti-static clean room environment.

  • Strong communicator, who can effectively work with a team of manufacturing operators, process engineers, as well as other technicians.
