The Occupational Health Resources group is seeking a self-driven and motivated nursing student for an internship position engaging in health related business projects, at our site in Gresham, OR. This is an excellent opportunity for a prospective nurse to learn occupational health nursing, quality tools, and to acquire some business acumen – topics generally not covered in nursing school! In addition, the successful candidate will participate in: emergency response, treatment of injured employees, workplace ergonomics and process improvement, training, and function as part of a team while being mentored and directly supervised by licensed RNs. The incumbent will utilize evidence based practice techniques in all their work activities.
Student will develop a robust corporate wide Occupational Health Resource Audit Criteria package
This opportunity will also ask a student to have the opportunity to collaborate on these performance objectives:
Collaborate with the Medical Emergency Response Teams across the sites;
Deliver: Blood-borne pathogens, HIPAA & Hearing Conservation Program training to affected employees
Develop improvements in electronic medical recordkeeping
Redesign of pertinent occupational health program forms
Implement existing standard operating procedures into Agile system
Initiate and launch a site walking program for fitness
In order to be considered for an internship, you must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited school pursuing an nursing degree program. At least one (completed) semester of a nursing program; and may be enrolled in a BSN, or MSN or DNP program. Licensed professionals continuing in school are also encouraged to apply.
