ON Semiconductor is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to join the Solutions Engineering Center team, located in Portland, OR. As a DC-DC Power Applications Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to develop & validate reference designs for DC-DC Voltage Regulator (VR) products targeted at computing, networking, communications, medical and industrial system designs. Our full stack design team integrates ON Semiconductor products into full system designs with embedded, host and cloud software for a full production solution that highlights product capability, performance, and quality.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
Collaboratein a team environment with individual responsibility & assignments todevelop unconditionally robust DC-DC sync-buck regulator solutions.
Workhands-on in a lab environment throughout the design & validationprocess.
Validate& document extensively all designs to ensure unconditionalreliability/stability and readiness for high volume manufacturing.
Presentresults & demonstrate performance & stability during design reviewsand demo days.
Performschematic design updates, Bill of Material changes, and generate finaldesign reports for customer replication.
Actively enrolled in 2018 Fall classes towards a MSEE or BSEEprogram
At least Junior level BSEE classes in process in Spring 2018
Rapid learning of DC-DCconverter architecture in intensive lab oriented training program
Ability to develop PCBrework skills, work with a range of test equipment & custom test tools, andutilize CAD programs for circuit Design
Develop in-depthunderstanding of DC-DC design tradeoffs between performance, cost and devicelimitations and put this into practice in design decision making.
Must be highly motivated, self-starter withinnovation, integrity and attention to details.
